We’re open for entries

What started as a statement at FOWA Dublin on March 6th is now a reality. That’s right, we’re ready to accept entries to the iQ Prize.

Questions or comments?

If you’ve a question on the prize, the process or anything else, just leave a comment and we’ll answer them here.

Oh, and we’re on Twitter too (@iqcontent) so we’ll be tweeting about the iQ Prize and very briefly answering any queries there too.

  1. This is a great initiative, very exciting indeed. Just a quick question - I have a website/business that has already been running for a couple of months, would we be eligible to enter with that idea? It has not yet received any funding or grants.

  3. Hi,

This is fantastic and generous initiative just what the country needs - so thank you.

My question is kinda flipside of MJ’s above - I have an idea that is in very early stages - (i.e. no website, financing etc in place) - but I think it has good potential. Is it sufficient just to get the biz plan together at that early stage? Do you need some sort of proto model to review?
Also - would there be any technical assistance on offer from IQ Content with website development for a winning entry?
    :-)

    Many thanks,
    Ann-Marie

  4. Hi Ann-Marie,

thanks for your question - the biz plan is sufficient for entry.

If the winner needs any technical assistance, we’d be delighted to help but there’s no obligation at all.

  5. Hi Guys,

I just have a quick question about how much you value conciseness!! The reason i ask is about a week ago i spent quite a while getting quite a long intro document or exec summary into just one page for conciseness.

If all questions are answered do you prefer a 1-pager or do you want a bit more meat on the bones?

Its a great idea running this by the way. Well done!!

  6. Hi Philip,

clarity over conciseness is key - it’s about expressing a good idea clearly. So, you’ve up to five pages

  8. Hi there,

I submitted my proposal on the 5th April but haven’t received any email notification you’ve gotten it. Could you send me a notification mail as I need to submit this as proof to my lecturer that I have completed the 5 pager and submitted it. Cheers.

  12. This concept has got me really excited! Please, is there a list of previous winning websites? I’m not looking for inspiration as such, just very curious!

    Thanks in advance.

  13. First time for this, so no previous winners.

  14. I hope that this does not turn out to be a deflated balloon like my last question (!), but will it be possible for entrants, if they do not win, to get an idea of where their idea came in the competition? Apart from wanting the 10 grand I would also love an appraisal of my idea if it happened not to win. Many thanks.

  15. Hi Tony,

unfortunately not, though those shortlisted will have that as knowledge that their ideas are well received. Having said that, if Richard Branson had listened to everyone who gave a reason why it couldn’t be done, we wouldn’t have the opportunity of flying Virgin Atlantic.
